This summer, children can enjoy free lunches through the Summer FoodService Program, a federally funded nutrition program open to all kids ages 1-18 years. No applications are necessary to drop in and all children and teens are welcome.

• For too many children, the end of the school year means an end to the free and reduced price meals they depend on throughout the year.

• But this summer, with many Josephine County families struggling to put food on the table, Grants Pass School District’s Summer Feeding Program will help ensure children do not have to worry about their next meal.

• The program will provide regular, healthy meals for children who might not otherwise receive them.

• Summer Feeding Programs must meet federal nutrition standards, ensuring that children continue to have access to the healthy, well-balanced foods they receive throughout the school year.

• Beyond fighting hunger, summer nutrition programs support quality programming for young people by boosting attendance at summer enrichment activities and providing the nutrition children need to fuel their day.

• Children may go on summer vacation, but hunger doesn’t! Grants Pass School District’s Summer Feeding Program bridges the summer hunger gap and lets our children know that the community cares about their well-being all year long.
