Grants Pass High School recently hosted the Southwest Conference Wrestling Championships on February 20 and 21, with the top 3 wrestlers in each weight class earning a berth in the State Wrestling Tournament.  Conference teams include Grants Pass, North Medford, Roseburg, Sheldon, South Eugene, South Medford, Thurston, and Willamette. The Cavemen are a young team with only 2 seniors on the district tournament roster.  11 Caveman wrestlers earned District places.  Brandon Warner (182), Jared Hood (220), and Ethan Jacuinde (285) earned 6th place honors.  Aaron Little earned 5th place in the 285 weight class.  Dane Backes (106), Ted Sutters (160), and James Jarrett (220) each earned 4th place.  Wrestling their way into the State Tournament were 3rd place -Talon Lloyd (126) and Trajun Hurd (145), 2nd place - Trevin Bailey (113) and Cole Brouhard (126) and 106 Champion, Tyler Bellon.   The Cavemen finished 3rd as a team, behind Roseburg and North Medford.
