The Grants Pass High School senior football players left their mark on the season, the school, and the community, after playing their way to the quarter-finals of the state championship tournament.
The Caveman finished the season with an overall record of 11-1, winning the Southwest Conference championship undefeated at 7-0.
Head coach John Musser summarized the season, “This was one for the ages. We not only had a successful win-loss record, but you could feel the community’s excitement everywhere.”
Musser said his proudest moment was the 28-21 overtime win against Lake Oswego in the second round of the playoffs.
Musser said he wouldn’t change a thing about the season because, “There was great culmination, hard work, and dedication. This was the most successful year since the early 90’s.
“Even more than that,” Musser said, “was that it felt like our program tied the community together in a positive way.”
The Cavemen made a huge impact on the Grants Pass community this football season.
