GPHS Cheerleaders attended a UCA cheer camp at Great Wolf Lodge in July with cheer teams from high schools all over the North West.  The UCA staff chose girls from each team to try out for “All American”.  GPHS had 5 girls that tried out and 3 girls that made it!!!  There were a total of 400 + girls at the camp and they chose 25 girls for “All American”  GPHS Cheer had 3:

ASHLEY HAMMOND (Senior Captain)

MIRANDA OWNBEY (Senior Captain)

LAUREN THEIS (Senior)

All 3 girls were invited to go participate in the Macy Thanksgiving Parade.  All 3 fundraised (car washes, garage sales, sponsorships, babysitting, worked at some class reunions, and can drives) and earned their own $$ to pay for their NYC trip!

Ashley Hammond and Miranda Ownbey also were invited to go to the London New Years Parade. Ashley Hammond is going to be leaving on December 26th for London to participate in that parade!!

Along with making “All American” Ashley Hammond also was part of a “pay it forward” pinning ceremony that took place at camp.  She was “pinned” by an Aloha cheerleader as being someone that stands out, helps others, very caring, kind and hard working. Out of the 400+ girls there at camp 15 girls were chosen for this special award. GPHS had 2 that received it: Ashley Hammond and Nikki Vorland
