Science and technology have collided at Parkside with a new program called Lego Robotics.
Some of our 4th and 5th grade students are now participating in Lego Robotics this year. We have two teams, thanks to a grant from ORTOP, Oregon Robotics Tournament & Outreach Program.
With the aid of their two coaches, Kim Joham and Carmen Lawson, these two teams are building robots with lego mindstorms and learning how to complete missions on lego tables. They are learning how to do research and will present their findings and attend our District Competition on December 6th at North Middle School. Students will also learn that friendly competition, mutual gain, and helping each other is the foundation of this program.
We would like to invite our community to stop by North Middle School on December 6th to be a part of this fun and educational experience. Watch for more details coming in November.
