CONGRATULATIONS TO KELEIGH SCHURPF
She was recently nominated for a child hero award and has been chosen as one of the 2014 honorees. The Children’s Advocacy Center and CASA program will hold their annual Hearts and Heroes Benefit Dinner and Auction on June 20th at 6:00 pm at the Grants Pass Golf Club. Where Keleigh will receive her award.
Keleigh is an educational assistant here at South Middle School and we are very proud of her and her efforts to help and support our kids!

“HEARTS AND HEROES”
Every day in Josephine County, children are victims of neglect, physical abuse, and sexual abuse. In fact, there are more than 400 cases of child abuse and neglect reported in our county every year.
Fortunately, there is a place for these children to get the help and services they need to heal. The Josephine County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) and CASA Program, provide a seamless comprehensive system of support for child victims in our community. As the first programs of their kind in Oregon, Josephine County CAC and CASA is the model for child advocacy throughout the state. In fact, it is due to our groundbreaking programs, that Oregon now has Child Advocacy Centers and CASA programs in every county.
We are proud to celebrate our 25th anniversary with the fourth annual “Hearts and Heroes” event on June 20, 2014 at the Grants Pass Golf Club.
The success of this event is credited largely to the generosity of local sponsors who support this work, and this year we are asking you to join us in our efforts to improve the lives of the most vulnerable children in our community.

We plan to raise $25,000 to serve 100 children with medical exams, forensic interviews, prevention education, court preparation and advocacy services.
