Mardi Gras was the most recent dance here at Grants Pass High School. It was a night of merriment and celebration.

To others it was a night of accomplishment. Congratulations go out to Nik O’Hara and Kallie Romack, as Mardi Gras King and Queen.

The night was filled with music and dancing. Students and teachers, including Jalynn Dinkins, said the D.J. was great. Other students enjoyed the decoration, which included masks, beads, and a whole lot of balloons.

Many tickets were sold, the estimated total came to 500 tickets, according to Dinkins. In addition, no students got out of hand and had to be kicked out, and most everyone had a great time.

All in all, students say it was a great Mardis Gras, and they can’t wait until next year’s dance.
