Grants Pass High School’s Mock Trial team had a successful season this year.
They took 1st place in at the regionals competition at the Jackson County courthouse in Medford, Ore., on March 1st.
The team then continued on to the state competition in Portland, Oregon on March 14-15th ,where they won 1 of 3 rounds. Mock trial teams from the Portland area tend to be more prestigious because rather than Mock Trial being a club, it is a program or it’s own class.
"[But] I think our team represented Grants Pass very well!" stated Christopher Rossetta, the advisor for Mock Trial.
Next year, Rossetta hopes to have everyone from this year’s team return, as well as new people to join. He also hopes to set up more competitions rather than just the standard regional competition. This will give the team more experience and better knowledge of what to expect in competitions ahead.
"The credit really needs to go to Mr. Lansing (attorney) for all of his time and help, we would not be successful without him," explained Rossetta.
Congrats to our Mock Trial team for all of their dedication and hard work this season.
