When was the last time you were at the Parkside Soccer Field sitting in the hot sun wishing for some relief from the heat?
Thanks to Doug Walker, the Grants Pass Rotary Club, Parkside PTA, and Mountain View Landscaping your wishes will soon be a reality. On Saturday, April 19th, six 10 foot Giant Sequoia Trees will be planted on the South side of the school along the soccer field sidelines.
Not only will this be a beautiful addition to our campus, but it will also provide immediate shade for all to enjoy this summer.
UPDATE - 04/22/14
The trees have been planted. On Saturday, 12 – 15 members of the Grants Pass Rotary Club along with Stephen Pylant, Parkside’s PTA President planted six Giant Sequoia Trees. They started in the morning and were done by noon. These trees should grow a couple of feet a year giving off nice cool shade quickly. Thank you to all who helped to make this beautiful improvement to Parkside’s campus.
