The CTE program here at Grants Pass High School has recently been enriched by the donation of a 3D printer filament “extrusion machine”.  Extrusionbot of Chandler Arizona has generously provided our students with the capability to enhance their knowledge and experience with regard to a nascent area of manufacturing known as “rapid prototyping”.  Not only do our classes design 3 dimensional objects using state of the art CAD software and then print these parts on one of our five 3D printers, but by utilizing this new machine they are now able to manufacture the material used by our printers to meet very specific requirements.  This opens up a whole new window of opportunities for learning about engineering and manufacturing processes.  We look forward to our association with our new friends at Extrusionbot and plan to develop further relationships such as this to include a wide range of businesses as the capabilities of our programs expand.
