The months of May and June are very busy, yet fun-filled months at Allen Dale. We will be finishing the year strong, with music programs, field trips, assemblies, and of course our annual RAH BBQ. Despite all of this fun, there will still be a lot of learning going on within the halls of Allen Dale. We are close to achieving our year-long attendance goal of 95% despite the flu bug hitting us hard during the months of January and February. Thanks for all you do to make sure your children are here on time ready to learn.
A special thank you to Mrs. St. Clair who ran our Run/Walk Club. This was a very successful after school club for students in grades 2nd-5th. Individual students walk and/or ran anywhere from 5-35 total miles. I also wanted to thank Mr. Van Manen who has run our after school choir for the 4th and 5th graders. The have performed multiple times this year, including at our Volunteer Tea at the end of April. Both Mr. Van Manen and Mrs. St. Clair spend this extra time with students, not because they have to, but because they want to.
I would also like to thank our PAWS/PTA group and other volunteers for all they have done for the students as well as teachers at Allen Dale. The success we achieve at Allen Dale truly is a community effort, and we have all of you to thank for the extra time and energy you have poured into our school this year.
Please remember to take a moment to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. This occurs during the week of May 6th-10th. Like Mr. Van Manen and Mrs. St. Clair, every one of our teachers at Allen Dale goes above and beyond their job of teaching.
I am looking forward to a great end of the school. Please feel free to come by your child’s classroom for an end of the year visit. We always appreciate seeing family visit Allen Dale! -Mr. Musser
